What is a Construction Association (Amuta)?
An Amuta, or a non-profit organization, is a legal entity established for a specific purpose or goal. It is registered and managed according to the laws pertaining to Amutot in Israel. A Construction Amuta is an association established for the purpose of building a housing complex for the benefit of its members. Before submitting the tender, the Amuta recruits a number of members based on the number of housing units that can be built on the land . The Amuta purchases the land in trust for its members (the “beneficiaries”) and enters various agreements as trustee (through its Executive Committee), in order to further its objectives: This includes contracting the services of planning consultants, building contractors, management companies, banks, and so forth.
